Research Interests

1 Interface Chemistry:

He found the factors affecting the dispersion of the solid in the liquid, established a simple model showing the dispersion of solid particles in liquid, determined the relationship among the physical parameters of raw materials, the interfacial tension and the dispersive stability of liquid/solid composite system, and invented the technology resulting in the dispersive stabilization of the system based on the control of the interfacial tension and the optimization of the solid particle size, which applied to the production of coal water slurry in Wanhua Chem., the largest polyurethane manufacturer in the world, the production of filled polyolefin used as automotive material in Nanjing Julong and the production of environmentally friendly, high-load, sustained-release pesticides in Jiangsu Youjia.

By applying the model and the technology, the new energy, high-performance polymeric composites and environmentally friendly pesticide formulations will be developed.

2 Biomaterials:

He revealed the essence of the biocompatibility of materials, built the relationship between the surface structures of the materials and the biocompatibility of the materials, proposed the concept of “maintaining the natural state of protein” and invented the technology improving

the biocompatibility of materials based on building the zwitterionic or amphoteric structures, which has been applied to the large-scale production of endoscopic expansion balloon and guide wire in Nanwei Medical Technology Co. LTD. and the large-scale production of disposable leukocyte filtration blood transfusion devices and disposable Plasma virus inactivation blood transfusion devices in Nanjing Shuangwei Technology Co. LTD.

By applying the concept and the technology, the specific molecular segments and structures will be designed. And the biomedical materials and devices with functions of anti-infection, anti-bio-adhesion, anticoagulant and blood purification, anti-tissue proliferation, endothelialization promotion and controlled drug release, will be prepared, respectively.
